Direct connection to the PC, no driver to install, all automatic.
Lightweight, already many trips with the bug without any problem and it works great every time with my colleagues :)
The "negative" point is that it needs a transportable stand to put it at eye level, but I'm kidding!
Very good quality... very clear picture.
Perfect as a second screen without the cables. Easy to bring back and store.
Bought 3 screens, works with usbc but not with USB 3 (only interest of this more expensive model) answer from the SAV: "The screen works with USB Type-C, we can't know why it doesn't work with the USB 3.0 of the thinkpad, because it's not an Asus computer"...(tested the 3 screens with other computers...)
In short I have 6 screens, 3 of which can be used on computers with usb-c ports.
The problem with the Thinkpad is that the charge is done through the usb-c port only...
To be avoided if you don't have a USB C
Quality and finishings at the rendezvous! Nevertheless, ldlc delivery really sucks, no delivery tracking a real nightmare....
I have been using it for several months as a companion to an ASUS 15p laptop and I can't do without it at the office or at my clients'. Same format as the laptop, only one cable for power and video. Recognized by Win10. The app is not essential except for the screen rotation. Too bad there is no matte version.
Nice finish, quality of the display, ultra simple USB-C connection under Windows, light, thin.
Beware of 2 points:
- glossy screen = reflections !
- Maximum size (to fit in the bag): don't look for bigger!
Practical :
- ultra fast Ppoint connection
- case = portrait AND landscape tripod
- if you have 2 screens in your office, it will be a perfect 3rd to put next to the word pages.
Let's be clear, it's hard to compare this product with the competition...because it doesn't have any. So, we can thank ASUS for offering this very practical product.
On the other hand, the display is recognised once in USB, once in display port...you'll have to disable the unwanted connection under Windows or you'll end up with an invisible screen in extended desktop display...
Second negative point, after having struggled to find the software on the site of asus.... one is useless, the other announces the screen as not compatible. I'm not sure how to use the automatic rotation feature like in the promo movie...and that's a load of crap...
No separate plug for the power supply...so on the one hand, it's good, it limits the cables, on the other hand, I think I was close to being able to use continum, but my phone must not have provided enough power (out of range was displayed on the screen)
