As the heir to the Define series, the Define R6 case from Fractal Design goes beyond expectations. With a host of cleverly designed features for enthusiasts, it's a silent case ready for a powerful, expandable air- or liquid-cooling system, built with a stunning Scandinavian-inspired design. Want to expand your system with water cooling or additional fans? You can easily change the layout to suit your new needs!
Enjoy optimal cooling
The Define R6 is a silent monster, thanks to the dense, strategically placed ModuVent sound insulation material and the Dynamic series fans. The R6 has plenty of space for large watercooling systems or 185mm high fans.
It is equipped with the new ModuVent 'tool-free' fan slot covers. The user can install additional fans, or cover the slots for maximum sound insulation. The case comes with three 140mm Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP14 fans, designed to provide superlative airflow with minimal noise. Equipped with the new Nexus+ smart HUB, you'll be able to control up to 6 fans through it.
High-class design and engineering
The Fractal Design Define R6 features a rugged design that's engineered to be absolutely silent. The entire case is lined with a highly sound-absorbing material that does not restrict airflow or cooling. A dust cover is fitted to the R6. Thesefilters are easily accessible and are located at the front and bottom air intakes.
The front door can be installed with either a right or left hand opening to fit your workspace. This high-performance housing is also available in a windowed version. Practical, robust, powerful and ultra-designed, it will satisfy gamers looking for a high-end case.
Adaptability: create the machine of your dreams!
The Define R6 was designed withadaptability in mind. Up to 8 hard drives and all modern graphics cards can be accommodated. Two SSD slots are provided behind the motherboard bracket and offer a "tool-free" installation. The HDD/SSD trays are robust and offer security for your drives, while a new, more open design ensures better air circulation.
The hard drive cage system can accommodate up to six 3.5" or 2.5" drives. It is more adaptable than ever. The user can change the cage layout as desired, with more slots available. The optical disc cage is easily removable to save space inside. Space can be freed up to improve airflow, to change the location of the hard drives or to install additional water cooling components.
Main features:
Motherboard compatibility: E-ATX, ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX
Expansion ports: 2x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0, headphones/microphone
I have had this case for 2 years now. I've been tinkering with it since then by changing my CG, replacing the fans and installing a watercooling system.
First of all, the case, although sober, is very classy. The panel in front of the front fans looks really good.
The side window is very solid and allows to see the inside of the case... A must have.
But the real highlight of this case is its ergonomics. You can install anything and everything. I installed a watercooler on top of it very easily. The plates can be removed by hand in 10 seconds thanks to a very ingenious system. Everything can be easily disassembled and reassembled!
I'm taking off 1/2 star for the default fans that were too noisy unfortunately. I have upgraded to be quiet! since and it's perfect.

Very good Fractal Design (Swedish quality made)
Delivery to Belgium, not the same delivery man as usual due to the weight and size, the cardboard box of the box acting as a transport box, on arrival it was very broken on one side. I wanted to refuse the package but the delivery man offered to open it in front of him to check.
With "glass handle with care" stickers all over, he could have been more careful.
The recessed box had scratched the tempered glass of the tower a bit, I saw that a plastic film had, fortunately, protected it from the blows of the other parcels that could have done this damage.
Anyway, I saw that it was nothing, I accepted the parcel.
And everything is fine, so fine!
Nothing to do with my old boxes at less than 100€.
Space, air, although the original fans are a bit light, they do a very good job, with two arctic F 120mm more underneath (be careful for a good cable-management don't get bigger there) and a watercooling fractal design S24 (240mm) above.
Having a DVD burner I needed to use the 5.25" bay and so I couldn't take an S28 or S36 (280mm and 360mm).
Besides, it was very limited because the motherboard (Aorus x570 PRO) takes up a lot of space in the rear panel (/northbridge?) and I had to put a bent sata cable on the back of the burner to just pass the watercooling.
You could run it through another screw rail closer to the soaked glass panel but you couldn't close the filter on top of the tower, so no it wasn't right.
But apart from that, this tower is great, with a fan hub, a very clean management cable made from the space between the motherboard and the right panel and the power supply cover.
The hard drive and SSD slots are all very robust and of impressive quality.
The tower weighs a lot, especially once it's assembled, but it's well worth it.

A high degree of modularity
I love this case! In addition to being well ventilated, it is particularly well modulable: you can put what you want where you want.
The aesthetics are rather sober but it still makes an impression when you see it.

Silence is golden ^^
Ultra modular case with impeccable quality in which I mounted a custom loop.
Here is the configuration:
- be quiet! Dark Power Pro 11 650W 80PLUS Platinum
- Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Ultra GAMING v1.0
- G.Skill Trident Z 16 GB DDR4 3000 MHz CL15
- Intel Core i7-8700K
- MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G
- SSD 1: ADATA XPG SX8000 PCIe Gen3x4 SSD 512GB
- SSD 2: Corsair Neutron Series 256GB
- SSD 3: Crucial MX500 1TB
- ASUS BC-12D2HT Black (bulk)
For the custom loop:
- 2x EK-CoolStream SE 240 (front and top)
- 4x Noctua NF-S12B redux-1200 PWM
- EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 RGB PWM
- EK-Supremacy EVO - Nickel
- EK-FC1080 GTX TF6 - Nickel
- EK-FC1080 GTX TF6 Backplate - Black
- ~700mL Thermaltake C1000 Blue
Fans are manually set to 500RPM and the pump to 1500.
Silence is golden and temperatures are top notch (after 1h of CPU 36°C / GPU 48°c stress)
Clearly I recommend!

Just beautiful
Case signed Fractal Design. Sober and elegant.
The finishes are nickel-plated and exude quality.
The case has a lot of options for the interior design. The cable management is simple and well thought out and the whole thing is well ventilated.
