The ability to power this switch via usb is very handy, as it avoids the need to hog an extra power socket for patching, as everyone knows that 220 sockets are a rare commodity around our PCs.
It works perfectly, is not cumbersome and very simple to install.
I'm buying a second one.
Having already bought exactly the same one, I already knew what this little gem was worth. What can I say? 8 rj45 ports. Clear indicators for each port to identify if one or more have a problem (if a cable is not working the light will not be on or yellow to indicate a problem). metal case and magnetic adhesive to store it on a metal plate (tower case for example). the recognition is done all alone (modem + 7 pc all recognized connected on modem and the 7 on the same network or just the pc between them can exchange) in short really no worries of use.
If you are looking for a simple switch without the headache, this is the one for you.
It's small. It's cheap. And it comes with its own power supply and usb. It's up to you how you power it.
