4G WiFi N 150Mbps LTE Router

Overview

Extend and share your 4G and 3G Internet connection

The D-Link DWR-921 4G LTE Router allows you to establish a 4G LTE or 3G mobile broadband connection to stream music and videos, play online games, download and upload files from anywhere at higher speeds.

4G LTE or 3G mobile broadband connections

The DWR-921 4G LTE Router allows you to access and share your 4G LTE or 3G mobile broadband connections. Once connected, you can transfer data, stream media and send SMS. Simply insert your SIM/USIM card and share your 4G LTE or 3G Internet connection over a secure wireless network or one of the four Ethernet ports.

This router is designed to always maintain the connection. Support for dual-band 4G LTE and 3G connections allows you to automatically switch to 3G if (or when) the 4G LTE signal is too weak, while the additional xDSL/FFTH Ethernet WAN option allows you to establish fail-safe connectivity if your fixed or mobile broadband line goes down.

Fast mobile internet

The 4G LTE router allows you to establish a 4G LTE mobile connection with fast download speeds of 100Mbps and upload speeds of 50Mbps, for a fast and responsive internet experience, for easy web surfing and un-buffered music and video streaming.

Secure wired and wireless connections

The DWR-921 uses two active firewalls (SPI and NAT) to prevent potential unwanted intrusions from the Internet. WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption keeps your wireless network secure and your traffic safe, so you can safely share your 4G LTE or 3G connections without worrying about unauthorised access to your network.

Easy to use

The DWR-921 4G LTE Router can be installed quickly and easily almost anywhere.
It is ideal for situations where you need a wireless network or where conventional Internet access is not available. The DWR-921 can even be installed on buses, trains and ships so that passengers can check their emails or chat online while travelling.

    Not for the campaign

I bought this equipment to replace an old Huawei 4g router whose latest firmware dates back to 2016. This Huawei works perfectly but can no longer be updated.
The D-link Dwr-921 is unable to pick up any 3g/4g network, even though it is positioned in the same place as the old Huawei. Connecting to an external antenna doesn't improve matters: no network with 3 different sim cards.
I tested it in an urban area to be sure of the configuration of my sim card: the connection is established, but poorly.
So there's no point as far as I'm concerned.

    Meets my expectations

I am generally satisfied with this 4G router which allows me to avoid sharing the connection with my iPhone 5S at the AFPA. I took the 2nd SIM from Bouygues, as well as a second larger package from Free (2 relay antennas in Langueux, near St Brieuc).

It's year 01 for the ADSL underprivileged

I had checked that I was eligible for 4G otherwise why make this purchase?
After a few mix-ups (my personal network is complex), a LAN port of the router is connected to a manageable switch and everything has been fine for 8 days.
Result: Download between 14 and 24 Mb and upload between 4 and 8 Mb indoors, but I think I can do better outdoors.
This compares to 750 Kb / 250 Kb on my wired line .... (yes, it's kilobits!)
The Wifi, as usual, doesn't get through the big stone walls, but fortunately the whole house is wired and it's a treat for VOD.
Minus: no utility CD in the package, contrary to the product description and installation manual. D-Link website rather confusing.
    LDLC impeccable as always.

    Efficient 4g modem

This is my only internet access point at home, used with a Bouygues SIM card from their 4g box.
Connected with 2 external antennas directed towards the nearest 4g relay (+3km), the speeds are better than adsl.
I recommend it for those who have an unlimited 4g package to replace a mediocre adsl in the countryside.

Not reliable and not for Free

I bought this router (over a year old) (hardware model C1) to use with B&You. I had a lot of trouble finding configuration settings that worked. Today, the router does not detect the SIM card anymore. Another limitation is that the router does not know Free. The firmware upgrade to 3.01 does not help. Many things don't work anymore: no French language, wps and reset button not working.
