    a few extra grey hairs...

The people who wrote the user manual are jokers. The default password after reset is not admin but "empty field". The translation of the manual into French is sometimes random, so it's a good idea to compare it with the English version, as usual with everything that's translated.
After battling for hours with the rebel beast without getting any LTE/4G intenet, and without finding any shared experience, I finally updated the firmware which solved the problem. I think that's the advice to give to anyone who buys one.
Delivered with firmware version 01.02.EU, after update: 01.03.EUb02 Rev A1.
    Result on sosh/orange network,
    - download: +/- 50 Mb/s,
    - upload: +/- 20 Mb/s.
On these networks, speeds appear to be variable. Further measurements at other times of the day are planned.
Apart from that, after a few minutes' use, the expected plus point is that it consumes less power than an operator's box when you don't need anything other than the Internet.
The downside is that you have to give your sim pin every time you restart.
Between very good and excellent experiences with other d-link equipment, I was waiting for it to work "out of the box".
The future? moving to 5G equipment?
