D-Link's DGE-528T is a 10/100/1000Mbps copper Gigabit PCI card for desktop PCs. Installed in a PC equipped with PCI slots, this card turns a desktop PC into a high-bandwidth Gigabit workstation or server running at 2000Mbps full-duplex speeds.

High-performance gigabit speed
Capable of operating at full-duplex Gigabit speed, this card gives your PC 2000Mbps data transmission over your existing Cat. 5 twisted pair network cable. Representing a cost-effective alternative to fibre, this card allows you to upgrade to Gigabit instantly without the need to install expensive new fibre cables. The card supports 10/100/1000Mbps auto-sensing network speeds and automatic half/full-duplex negotiation.

VLAN for improved performance and security
The card provides internal management of tagged VLAN frames, enabling your PC to be configured with a switch that supports VLAN. Your PC can be part of a VLAN network, where domains are segmented to increase performance and security.

Wake-on-Lan for power management
Wake-on-Lan (WOL) is an Advanced Configuration Power Interface (ACPI) function that enables a remote station to be switched on. This function allows the administrator to send a wake-up message to the computer. The WOL function offers great flexibility in administering a PC's power supply and allows users to initiate action at irregular times and remotely.

Flow control to minimise packet loss
The card's built-in flow control and independent FIFO are a means of protecting against the possible loss of data during transmission over the network. When connected to a Gigabit switch supporting flow control, the card receives a signal from the switch indicating that the buffer is overloaded during the maximum periods of use. The card then delays transmission until the switch is again ready to accept new data.

Small size, low power supply
