Very good casing
Classic but of good quality, it weighs its weight and inspires confidence.
I've kept the original fans, which aren't the quietest but are still efficient.
Mounted with a Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core and an i7-11700

I bought this box because I needed a compact box with an internal player/writer to put in a niche
in a multimedia cabinet
Mounted with an I5 12400F ,pure rock 2 black, and ASUS RTX 4060 , the box is silent with temperatures more than
correct temperatures in games (CG and CPU at 60 degrees max).
for this purpose.
I hadn't bought a camera for 10 years. It's nothing like what I've had in the past. Great box, well laid out.
The top plate is well magnetised. My only doubt is the relative fragility of the top sockets (jack and usb). To be seen over time
Good case overall, no weaknesses to be found.
I chose this case because it's virtually noiseless, but the two fans supplied with it aren't very quiet, which is a shame. So I replaced them with two shadow wings from bequiet! Now it's really inaudible... except when the CG starts humming ^^.
The power supply dust filter is very basic, and could do with a little improvement too.
But in the end I don't regret my purchase, I love the sober and compact look.
Rather compact case, with a sober and elegant design. Ideal for a quiet, unobtrusive PC that can accommodate a powerful system. It would be perfect with a switch with a little more travel to eliminate any risk of unintentional pressing.
I was initially happy with this box, but I changed my mind after a few months of use, as the 2 front USB ports no longer work without having been overused or forced...
I was looking for a compact, powerful and quiet box with a bay for an internal burner.
This box meets all the criteria, but has some small flaws.
The pluses :
- compact (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Ti + 1 SSD + 1NVME + 1 HDD + 1 DVD writer)
- quiet
- 1 bay for a burner (which is rare and very appreciable)
- easy access USB3 ports + SD port
- sober and discreet
The -s :
- manufacturing quality: the fixing points of the fans and the power supply are deformed when tightened (low quality of the metal alloy)
- the door is almost in contact with the eject button of the drive inserted in the internal bay, sometimes it opens by this contact.
- the reset button is very close to a USB 3 box port, it is easy to activate it by disconnecting a peripheral
- an internal fan which is sometimes noisy (no warranty without turning the whole case over)
I am very satisfied with this case, it suits my use and what I expected.
This S400 offers an unsurprisingly spacious internal layout despite the presence of a 5 ¼" bay (which is becoming rare on small towers and was part of my criteria for choice). This is my second experience with a Cooler Master case, and I am not disappointed.
Choosing a moderately sized, damped case requires a bit of trial and error for airflow.
After a few tries, I gave up the top cover and mounted 4 fans in the main chamber.
With 2 pulls (top and back) and 2 pushes in front (on AIO radiator in my case), I manage to keep a configuration with a CPU TDP > 100 watt without having the noise of a jet at takeoff.
For silence, you have to choose your fans carefully, put rubber washers and wedges everywhere possible, work on the fan curves in the UEFI, etc., hoping that the CG won't ruin everything.
2 negative points:
Some of the sheets are a bit thin, the rear panel in particular.
The second chamber has an air circulation based on the presence of an Alim fan. With a Fanless, logical choice in this case, the temperature rises a little. Nothing serious, but if there is an SSD installed on the back of the Mobo, fit a heatsink.
Having never had a Cooler Master case before and needing to make a small silent configuration, I let myself be tempted by this Silencio S400.
In the end, a very good surprise concerning the soundproofing, I did not expect something so efficient! Globally of good invoice, but, some small details break slightly the faultlessness:
- Cable management: very basic ( but Cooler Master provides a lot of serflex ).
- Dust filter : extremely basic ( almost useless ... ).
- Very thin sheet metal at the back, and therefore slightly wavy at the fixing points ( am I nitpicking ? ).
In short, improving the dust filter => very good tower.
Indeed, the instructions are very light, but it's only a box, so it's still manageable.
It is quite beautiful, very sober.
As far as practicality is concerned, I had a bit of trouble getting past all the connectors, but it's a server type motherboard (microATX), so maybe that's what got in the way (not a very large opening and very close to the connectors on the CM). But we managed to do it anyway.
And above all, it is indeed very quiet.
You have to mount the hard drives with the connectors facing outwards. The instructions are really light.
Integrated in the following configuration
Gigabyte Z390 Gaming
Intel Core i7-9700
ASUS GeForce GT 1030 2GB
LDLC US-550G
Corsair Force MP510 960GB
Cooler Master hyper TX3 Evo
GSKILL DDR4 8GB x2
Deepcool Z3 useless
A nice and efficient little setup!!!
