Fast and reliable delivery. The equipment meets my needs. The drive needs two USB 2.0 ports or higher.
Lightweight and very quiet, immediately recognized and functional (read, untested burn) under Windows 7 SP1, Manjaro 21.0.3 (XFCE), MX Linux 19.4 (XFCE), Linux Mint 20.2 (XFCE).
Purchase for a laptop. The drive connects and is recognised quickly. The few programs to be installed are easy to learn.
The product is simple, efficient and reliable.
The only negative point I find is that it is USB 2.0.
I would have liked to have seen this product, but it was not as good as I had expected, and I would have liked to have seen it again.

Bought to repair a PC whose internal drive/burner broke down, laziness to dismantle the tower... Delivered quickly - with a nice little Chinese goodie - and very easy to install: you plug in the 2 usb ports and you can burn seriously! I took the black model, and as the device is very thin, it will be almost invisible in a dark office, this will be my only complaint.
Very beautiful visually and very discreet. Recognition as soon as you plug it in. Just a pity that the software provided is only a trial version.

It's a pity to require a connection with TWO USB sockets, which laptops are generally not very generous with.

I've been using it for a while now and I'm very pleased with the way it works. It's a great product, and it's very easy to use, but it's also very easy to use.
It's a quiet, compact and light player/writer, with a nice design and easy to use (plug and play). The 2 blank DVDs offered are a nice touch. In short, good stuff, ASUS stuff!

The only BIG problem: The software provided in the box, therefore by ASUS, does not work at all on my Windows 7 Full 32bits Edition.
So I had to "tinker" with an additional program. (Not really very practical.)
No recognition issues, very smooth and quiet in use.
Uses two USB ports to operate.
A sober, elegant and silent player, ASUS quality.
I really don't regret my purchase.
I remember Asus in their early days, I'm still blown away by their achievements.
This tiny box is still a success story, light, powerful, functional, flawless.
I didn't really need it, but when I changed my wife's case for a LianLi Q37, I realized too late that there was no 5"1/4 to keep her drive, so I needed an external drive just in case...
The player is very quiet and easy to use, once plugged in it is immediately recognized, it was delivered with two dvd-r, I have not yet tested it in burning but in reading it does not make any noise, very fast delivery as usual!
I chose this external drive after some research and I'm not disappointed / I use it quite often on my multimedia oriented laptop and everything is smooth with it: it's a pleasure to watch new or old dvd-cd's and to see that everything goes through without any problem ( contrary to what happens with my laptop's integrated drive ).
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use the player with a USB port or not, but it's a good idea to use it with a USB port and a USB cable.
All in all, I really like the product and I recommend it.
The only problem is that if one of the anti-vibration pads disappears, you have to remove them all because the player will not read anything until it is on a flat surface.
This product is very easy to use, classy, small, very light and comes with 2 x 4GB M-Discs. Nothing to complain about, ASUS quality at a small price. Think to foresee 2 usb port for its functioning. I recommend it.
Compact product!
Makes a lot of noise during the installation of Windows 10. Maybe this is normal as it is a multi GB installation.
I am satisfied with the quality/price ratio.

I'm very pleased with the quality of the product and the price. I haven't had the time to test it yet, I bought it mainly to install Windows 10.
Compact, fast, well finished and practical! The best! Asus quality for a low price plus two dvd's included m disc.
It sits on my desk and not hidden away like some other drives!
The only problem is that the usb cable provided is very short (I plugged it into my acer predator monitor).
It does its job perfectly as a drive/writer with the Asus finish.
It comes with two M-Discs to store your personal files such as photos or videos.
It needs two USB 2.0 ports to be powered.
It is beautiful and uncluttered and does what it was bought for very well. It is not louder than the norm, quite the contrary. It's still a shame that on this kind of component you have to use two USB slots, but it's manageable.
This is an excellent value for money drive that is efficient, easy and quick to install, discreet and has a sleek design.

Excellent product, almost universal, it (only lacks the burning of Blu-Ray...) As usual thisz ASUS, the technology is complemented by the aesthetics, too bad it is not aluminum as my laptop of the same brand! I'm very pleased with the quality of the product.
