The finish needs to be reviewed, as some of the holes are not properly aligned with the corresponding standard components.
(Power supply face difficult, HDD screwing impossible). Some of the holes are difficult to access, especially when installing the motherboard.
Despite this, I think it deserves at least 3 stars because the finish is clean, the case is rigid, sober and meets aesthetic expectations.
The tower itself is quite plain and simple.
But when you start unpacking it, it's not the same.
1: No real instructions, no detailed plan and no installation procedure. You have to rack your brains.
2: My micro ATX card has a hard time fitting, if you have a graphics card with a DVI, it's hell, too tight to fit.
3 : Too many screws, too many models, you have to try.
4 : No place to attach cables, better to have serflex at home.
5 : Once you've had a hard time, it's not so bad !
The case itself is not bad, but the manual leaves something to be desired.
The screws are all thrown in the same bag, and the manual doesn't help to differentiate them and where they should be used.
The case doesn't allow you to hide your cables behind the motherboard support, so you have to put all the superfluous cables in the two 5.25" bays and manage to make the rest look nice...
The fan supplied is a 3-pin connection and therefore does not allow PWM control, but at this price it is still much better than a molex fan.
Otherwise for the general finish, it is good. I've seen much worse from more expensive cases. This is one of the few times I haven't cut myself on a sharp edge of the case.
A compact case that allows you to set up a simple office configuration.
The + : Compact, easy access hard drive rack, very clean exterior finish, low price.
The -s: Only one fan provided on the front and it is quite noisy, so it lacks an extractor fan (beware 90mm on the back and 120mm on the side panel), the cable management is non-existent, the position of the power supply on top.
This is not my first Fractal Design case, this entry level one is really not bad.
The pluses :
-MicroATX dimensions
-Anti-vibration foam feet
-The 3"5 slots with anti-noise pads
-The presence of 2"5 slots
-The Fractal fan is quite quiet despite its high speed
-Thumb screws everywhere.
The cons :
-No possibility of cable management
-The power supply is located at the top.
In short, for this price, it's still worth it.
Quite discreet and of good quality, there is no sheet metal or sharp edges.
The assembly of the different components is easy (2 SSD, 1 DVD burner, CM, CG, ...).
Only the thumbscrews are a bit too tight from the factory and need a screwdriver to be removed.
A very good quality product, sober and functional, which can nevertheless be upgraded, for a small configuration. Very well ventilated and upgradeable again...
1st price, it seems from the brand "Fractal Design", this product is well thought out and of a quality of manufacture, not neglected for a price more than modest...
I chose this box for its price, to install a mATX configuration for games.
The pluses :
- sobriety
- price
- front fan included
- possibility to install up to 3 extra fans
The disadvantages :
- the power supply is located at the top of the case; but there is no ventilation provided! I had to turn the power supply upside down to get the air from inside the case :/
- I'm not sure how to connect the power supply to my gtx 770.
I've been using it for a while now and it's a good idea to check it out. I ordered online, cancelled some items for others. I'm very pleased with the service and the quality of the product.
