The JBL 240B features a 25 mm aluminium dome tweeter with HDI waveguide, and a 110 mm mid-bass driver. This serious acoustic configuration can be concealed by a fabric grille. The cabinet of the JBL 240B features a wood veneer with a 'slat' stain on the front panel, while the rear features a bass-reflex port and a pair of binding posts. TheJBL 240B can be mounted on a dedicated stand, sold separately. The spikes of the Stage 2 stand can be adjusted directly on the top of the base, without having to lift the whole unit.

Where the first Stage series was essentially designed to make the JBL aura more affordable, this new Stage 2 range more closely resembles the essence of JBL's flagship loudspeakers, while maintaining a perfectly rational budget. Stage 2 is intended to be the component - combined with the amplifiers in the JBL MA range - of home stereo and cinema systems that are accessible - in every sense of the word - offering prestige acoustic performance and stylish JBL photo-engineering to as many people as possible.
