Quality speakers offering good value for money and versatility.
I was looking for a versatile pair of hi-fi speakers on a reasonable budget, offering good performance, and I chose this model. Combined with the Triangle Tales 340 subwoofer from the same brand and a cable from the same manufacturer, the result is a very good sound reproduction.
Be warned that when the speakers are first switched on, the default 'Boost' mode is activated, and this is clearly not an easy task. The bass is omnipresent and totally ruins the listening experience.
Once deactivated, however, the speakers offer a very appreciable quality and balance. You get nuance and detail, exactly what you're looking for in HI-FI speakers.
This basic BR03 version offers performance, capable of accepting high listening volumes without saturating a room of up to 35 m2.
In my case, combined with a subwoofer, the combination (once properly adjusted) provides even better listening quality.
I use it in several ways:
- HiFi via the USB port and music in high fidelity, thus enjoying the best possible quality.
- More simply via BT for evenings out, which remains correct despite the compression (BT Compulsory).
- HDMI for TV, the main attraction of this Connect version. Films immediately take on a different dimension, with dialogue that's always very clear and the impact of sound effects (explosions etc). The same goes for video games with a PS5 in my case, a real treat.
Finally, the speakers aren't without their faults either. The most obvious is the quality of the materials used. Good quality, but they can't compete with much more expensive speakers.
