    Works, but ...

I bought these speakers out of loyalty to the Klipsch brand. What a disappointment ...
So everything works, the ergonomics and compatibility are there but it stops there.

The finish is below average, well below any pair of entry-level Magnats (slightly scratched surfaces, imperfect assembly, etc.).

And the sound... well, that's even worse. First of all, the amp makes a coil whine (mechanical whistling of the electronic components) which makes the speakers slightly noisy, and not the most pleasant noise in the world. Then, between the bass and the highs, which are very present, the midrange has absolutely no precision. The response curve makes no sense, full of dips and bumps (but mostly dips). It's so bad that you have to turn up the volume to understand the voices in a film, even at close range in optimal listening conditions. Compared to my slightly more expensive pro monitors, it's catastrophic. It's barely better than a disgusting JBL portable speaker, with stereo and bass to boot.

Klipsch isn't a reference brand any more, it's a sticker stuck on low-end noname speakers. At over £500 it's a complete rip-off. At the price I got them for (300) it's just about acceptable, but I was expecting much better. At its full price, I'd have given it just 1 star.

    good but not great

I might as well say it straight away, audiophile friend: pass on. In spite of a childish installation and connection, its controlled size and its pretty face, this pair of speakers will disappoint the demanding. No bass, only midrange, and highs that sting. However, a very honourable result is achieved by adding a subwoofer and a good equalisation. The power is there but the budget is not.

Very good sound - very satisfied after 1 year of use

The speakers provide a very pleasant sound, slightly round but without attenuating anything.
Ideal for multimedia use in a large office to a large living room as the power range is really large.

I confirm the previous opinion with a little bit of white noise, but I think it's due to my distance of use sometimes too low (about 60cm) because they are put on my computer desk.

When you turn up the sound, with the listening distance that goes with it, you notice that there is a good margin in power. There is a system of amplification of the bass which is present in listening to low level, which attenuates as one goes up the sound, it is very well for the most part of the music and perfect for the films, on the other hand a demanding ear listening to the classic will prefer to deactivate it.

I'm very happy with the aesthetics and connectivity, and I don't regret my choice of the self-amplified version.
In a small office, the smaller model is certainly preferable.

The fact that the speaker starts up at a relatively low level each time it is turned on is perfect for my use and for medium-sized rooms, but in a large living room connected to a TV it can be annoying as it forces me to turn up the sound each time.

    Very good sound, but

The sound is simply excellent except for one detail... a permanent white noise (breath) whatever the source which can be very unpleasant. Is it a problem with the amplification? Is it a defect of my speakers or is it characteristic of this reference? If someone has an idea. I'm interested.

    Good Compromise

    Good compromise for music/TV use
Very good rendering of instruments in music listening mode.
