If the receiver is connected to a Sony device that supports the Multi Interface Shoe, such as an Alpha series interchangeable lens digital camera or a vlogging camera, you can use the Multi Interface Shoe.If the receiver is connected to a Sony device that supports the Multi Interface Shoe, such as an Alpha Series interchangeable lens digital camera or a vlog camera, the digital audio signal it emits can be recorded directly into the camera body, for quality recording with minimal noise.
The microphone is equipped with an anti-noise filter that uses digital signal processing, and a low-pass filter that reduces noise in the low-frequency range. With less noise to eliminate in post-production, workflows are more efficient.
The benefits of wireless transmission
The ECM-W3S consists of a micro-transmitter and a single-channel wireless receiver. Communication is possible up to 150 m within direct range, using Bluetooth 5.3 (Bluetooth Low Energy) and LC3plus codecs for low power consumption, low latency and high-quality sound. The power-saving function has reduced the size of the battery.
The receiver attaches easily to Sony cameras compatible with the Multi Interface Shoe, such as Alpha series interchangeable lens digital cameras or vloggers.rie Alpha interchangeable lens digital cameras or vlog cameras, without the need for a cable, for immediate sound acquisition without interference from the variable-angle LCD screen, even when it is opened horizontally. It offers greater freedom and mobility.
Security and attenuation functions
A safety function allows two audio signals to be recorded simultaneously, one atnormal volume and the other 20 dB lower, reducing the risk of clipping when recording at high volume. An attenuation function is also available. It allows the recording level to be set to one of three values depending on the audio volume.
A 3.5 mm mini-socket (monaural) is provided as an external microphone input terminal on the side of the microphone, while a 3.5 mm mini-socket (stereo) on the side of the receiver serves as an audio output terminal. As well as allowing sound acquisition using a stereo-compatible lapel microphone, this device also allows output to devices not equipped with a Multi Interface Shoe.
Digital audio output (48 kHz / 24 bit) from the receiver can be made via a USB cable to a smartphone or PC, or to a device compatible with USB audio input for recording.
