    i had a synology DS114 (entry-level 10 years ago). it was never responsive, to say the least.
    with this one it's a big change, i'm going from minitel to fibre, what a slap in the face!
    The interface is super fast and pretty well designed. I find that the menus and options are better suited to the average user, unlike the syno, which always seems to be aimed at a computer network expert. It doesn't heat up or make any noise, although I'm not a fan of the design, but it's a fan of a patchbay so...
    To sum up, I recommend upgrading the LAN to 2.5gb to take full advantage of all its options (plex among others).
