After many years with a GTX 1070 Asus bought on LDLC I finally changed for this new model a little Christmas gift before time.
On my 27 inch screen, the difference makes a big difference whether it's the colourimetry or the display quality on the desktop.
After a few hours of testing on games, the ASUS RTX 4070 showed its teeth: a fluid image, no latency, it's clean and sharp.
All this in silence, I wondered if the fans were working.
A good buy overall on the LDLC site, even if the prices of these cards have changed over time.
Merry Christmas to all

Ultimate Compromise
I'm very happy with this graphics card after a few months, so here's some information to help you make your choice:
HIGHLIGHTS
- Performance : What you'd expect from an RTX 4070, a good step up from the 3070 (I owned one)
- Power consumption: Very surprised that it never exceeds 200W for performance levels that normally require ~300-350W on other Nvidia cards.
- Heating: Low power consumption means low heating: 25-30°C resting, 35-50°C active, 60°C stressed
- Silent mode: Fans OFF below 55°C (in this mode, the airflow from my case is enough to cool the card for moderately demanding games) GPU button or GPU Tweak III
- Noise : The fans are very quiet, even at full speed you can only hear them blowing, no motor noise. They never exceeded 50% of their speed. No Coilwhine or very slight on a GPU load (really ridiculous).
- Easy overclocking with GPU Tweak III (manual or even automatic) MSI Afterburner and your other software also work very well
- 8-PIN CONNECTOR: Apart from the 12VHPWR debates, there is only one 8-pin connector on this card, so it will be compatible with your old power supply.
- Price: well under the €1,000-€2,500 price tag of the 4070Ti 80 and 90 models
- Dimensions: compact, it will fit into all your cases
- DLSS 3.0: an average gain of 50% FPS in my personal experience, which is huge but limited to very few games
- Best compromise between volume and performance
WEAK POINTS
- Price: still an investment
- 3 DP ports but... only one HDMI, so be careful if you have 2 HDMI screens
SUBJECTIVE
- RGB: There's no RGB on this card, so if you want it you're out...
- Design: Personally, I wanted a spatial design for my configuration. I mounted this 4070 vertically with a 180° to hide the 8 pins on an ASUS PRIME Z790-A WIFI, and I found the design very successful with the details shared between the CM and the GPU, such as the "G1" logo.
