still not perfect
Bought to replace a Zenbook 14 BX425JA which gave up the ghost when the hard disk was changed, a few days after the end of the warranty ?
The positive points, compared to its predecessor of old generation :
- The OLED screen is beautiful, the edges are very thin,
- It is better finished than the previous generation, more metal, less plastic, and seems more solid,
- The power gain is obvious, the SSD is 5 times faster...
Negative points :
- Significantly heavier,
- The (very!) bright screen, you have to increase the brightness in bright rooms...
- Hence a significant decrease in autonomy
- The screen is touch-sensitive. It's useless, and putting your fingers on the edge (to change the orientation, open or close...) makes it react, which is always surprising.
- The webcam no longer allows you to unlock the session, a petty economy on a machine of this price!
- The price!
I'm still looking for the perfect ultrabook:
Core i or ryzen 5/7 + 16GB ram + 1TB mini fast SSD + matte screen + 1.2kg max + backlit keyboard + 10 hours autonomy minimum + wifi 6 + facial recognition
Between 1200 and 1500 € it should still be possible ...
