Volume Expansion and Backup
When disk capacity becomes insufficient on a Synology DiskStation, the Synology RX121 provides an easy way to immediately expand storage by providing 12 additional slots. The Synology RackStation's RAID volume can be expanded directly without reformatting the hard drives, allowing it to continue operating while expanding capacity.When created as a separate volume, the Synology RX1217 also serves as an additional local backup destination for Synology RackStations.
Reliable Plug-and-Play Design
The Synology RX1217 securely connects to Synology RackStations with a high-bandwidth extension cable, ensuring maximum data throughput and smooth operation - as if it were part of the internal drives of the Synology RackStation. The SATA 6 Gb/s interface ensures that the installed drives deliver exceptional high-quality data processing performance.
Eco-friendly and Easy to Use
The hibernation mode can be manually configured to automatically start up when the system has been idle for a certain period of time. This not only saves power but also extends the life of the hard drives. The RX1217 can also intelligently power on and off with the RackStation connected, so no user intervention is required to run this system intelligently and efficiently.
