The NH-P1 is Noctua's first passive processor cooler. It has been custom-designed for fanless operation. It is perfect for cases with good natural convection. Its six heatpipes and thick , widely spaced heatsink fins enable it to cool modern high-end processors with low to moderate heat dissipation completely passively. With the added benefit of a 6-year guarantee, the NH-P1 is the ideal cornerstone for mounting fanless or semi-passive configurations of the highest quality.
Fanless cooling for high-end cPUs
In fully optimised fanless systems, the NH-P1 is capable of cooling high-end processors with low to moderate heat dissipation using only natural convection. This makes it ideal for powerful configurations that run absolutely silently.The NH-P1 can be fitted with an additional 120 mm fan such as the almost inaudible NF-A12x25 LS-PWM to considerably increase its maximum dissipation capacity: ideal for semi-passive systems that only start their fans when necessary!
Fanless cooling doesn't just have the advantage of being totally silent: if you rely solely on natural convection and don't have case fans pushing air through a case, less dust will accumulate in the filters or inside the system. Last but not least, with no moving parts such as fans or pumps to fail, the NH-P1 is as foolproof as it gets.
Maximum RAM compatibility
With its asymmetrical design, the NH-P1 is offset towards the top edge of the motherboard. This does not prevent you from taking advantage of the PCIe x16 slot on current µATX and ATX motherboards.
Nor does the NH-P1 encroach on the RAM slots of Intel LGA1200, LGA115x and AMD AM4 motherboards, guaranteeing easy access to modules and 100% compatibility with large heat sinks. On the LGA2066, it overhangs the RAM slots on the left-hand side of the socket, so RAM modules must be no more than 45 mm high.
Noctua's SecuFirm2 mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, security and ease of installation. Based on Torx, the professional SecuFirm2+ version with its included screwdriver offers even better handling and durability.
Compatibility with past and future sockets
Thanks to Noctua's SecuFirm ecosystem, the NH-P1 can be made compatible with legacy LGA1366 and LGA775 sockets using the optional NM-I3 mounting kit supplied free of charge. Where technically feasible, Noctua will also supply upgrade kits for future sockets, making the NH-P1 a secure long-term investment.In high-end passive cooling, every degree counts. That's why the NH-P1 includes a tube of Noctua's next-generation NT-H2 thermal compound , which performs even better than the award-winning NT-H1, giving you the best possible passive cooling results.
With many heatsinks, the fins are pressure-fitted to the heatpipes. Due to the different coefficients of thermal expansion of copper and aluminium, this fit can loosen over years of thermal cycling, which can lead to reduced performance. In contrast, the fins of the NH-P1 are soldered to the heat pipes to ensure a superior thermal interface that does not deteriorate even after many years of use.
