Key points:
- Active noise cancellation does the job very well. I suffer from tinnitus due to too much acoustic trauma and I even use these headphones on the platforms at SNCF stations instead of my protective earplugs.
- the sound is of good quality, very precise, clear, the bass is present without being too intrusive, and the noise reduction + circum-aural are a real bonus
- no need for the app, it's practically plug and play
Minus :
- for several models, moisture can find its way into the cups and reduce the effectiveness of the active noise reduction. I live in an oceanic climate and it didn't fail: a few months after my purchase I had to send it back to the after-sales service. But no problem getting it exchanged, so that's good.
- There's a function called "speak-to-chat" that you can activate inadvertently by pressing 2 fingers on the right-hand cup (so every time you take it off and put it back on, you risk activating it...). I don't know if this is its primary purpose, the instructions aren't explicit, but when activated the headphones stop working (sound and noise reduction) if you start talking. You have to press a button to restart it. And as I've stuck a microphone on this headset, well, it cut out every time I spoke... It took me a few hours to find the answer...
- speaking of the microphone, let's be honest, it's pretty rubbish for the price, tested on the phone and Discord, and your interlocutors have trouble understanding you...
