Excellent case for newer motherboards
I bought this case to replace my previous TermalTake, too small to accommodate the cooling system of an Intel Core i9-12900KF CPU. The Noctua D15 cooling unit is huge! And it fits nicely in this case. There is even room for the power cables of the 2 fans to be routed through the heatsinks. The sheet metal is robust and the edges are not sharp.
The case is very well designed and has a top class ventilation system: 2 fan slots on the front + 2 on the top + 1 on the back. The front slots (intake airflow) are protected from dust by an easy to remove and clean filter grid. The top slots are accessible through a removable grille, very practical! No dust protection grid for the top and the rear but it is for hot air extraction, so it is not interesting.
The connectivity on the front panel is sufficient and the screwless hard disk mounting system (5" and SSD) is great! You can mount 2 SSDs on the backplane of the motherboard support and 4 5" drives in baskets.
However, I found a few drawbacks to justify my 9/10 rating:
- Non-existent documentation: You have to go and watch a video on Youtube which is well done but sometimes inaccurate. But it's easy to do with a little thought and logic ;-)
- With an ATX motherboard (I have an ASUS PRIME Z690-P) and a Noctua D15 type fan, it is impossible to mount 2 fans on the top slots. There is only room for one unless you find a very thin fan.
- The SSD holders (in the backplane) do not allow the connection of angled SATA cables, only straight ones.
Apart from that, I recommend this very well made product.
