Arctic Liquid Freezer II 120

Watercooling kit for processor with 120 mm fan

Last price 109€94
Holy Moly!
Overview

A powerful and quiet watercooling kit

With the Liquid Freezer II 120 all-in-one CPU watercooling kit, Arctic brings its expertise to gaming with a compact PWM controlled cooling pump. The pump does not run at full load all the time, but adjusts its operation to the temperature of the processor to limit its noise level at rest. The system is complemented by a 120mm high static pressure fan and another 40mm fan near the pump that cools the motherboard's VRM circuits.

Take advantage of Arctic expertise

Thanks to its ingenious design, the pump in this watercooling system does not run at 100% all the time. Instead, the PWM system it is equipped with adjusts its speed according to the current load. In this way, it is extremely quiet when not in use and consumes less energy!

The Liquid Freezer II also features the Arctic P-series fan with hydrodynamic 120 mm bearings and blades designed for greater efficiency. Enjoy lower vibration levels, and extreme durability for your new watercooling system. In addition to the standard high static pressure fan, a smaller 40 mm fan is located next to the pump to cool the VRM circuits on the motherboard to prevent overheating during long periods of use. The water circuit is completely sealed, so there is no need to add additives.

    advantages but also some shortcomings

Watercooling quite efficient. Placed externally at the back of the case, my Ryzen 5 3600 goes up to 77° maximum with all cores running at full speed for 45 minutes (compiling and encoding large 4K video files). Radiator with very good dissipation. There could be more performance but this is a small heatsink model so it's not bad.
I like the closed circuit assembly without the need to add liquid. But on the other hand, the blocks are not removable.
The socket fan is a good idea.
It comes with just the right amount of thermal paste.
The pipes are very rigid. So anticipate if mounted inside the case.
Radiator fan: when mounted externally, it is not quiet, even at idle regulated by the motherboard. This is really THE big flaw.
It is not at all bright: probably an error in the LDLC description.
    Conclusion: good value for money.

    Excellent

After a month and a half of use in a Silvertstone SG13 box which is 50 cm from my ears: this watercooling system perfectly meets my expectations in terms of performance while being very quiet. What more could you ask for?

The installation was very easy (AMD4 socket).

    Perfect

Thanks to this watercooling, my i7 3930k overclocked to 4.4Ghz only heats up to 80°C during 1h of OCCT as well as Cinebench r20.

The assembly is very easy and the materials seem to be of very good quality.

The pump and the fans do not make any noise.

    Good watercooling for its price

Let's start with the negative points:
The pipes are too rigid and a bit short on the 120 mm version.
The radiator fan can be heard faintly, but it can be heard.
Installation is not easy if the fan is placed at the back of the case.
    Now the positive points:
Good performance despite its size ( the 2600 is 38°c in idle although it is 30°c outside at the moment).
I strongly suspect the effectiveness of the ARCTIC thermal paste.
Easy installation if the fan is placed on top of the case.
The radiator fan cools the motherboard.
    The price is interesting.
