Nothing to say, everything went well, the delivery man was friendly. The parcel was very heavy and as I was alone I had trouble putting my printer on the desk.
I have owned several HP and Dell printers, colour laser, multi-function, duplex,. This one I'm perfectly happy with. It is powerful, compact and seems reliable. It has all the important options including duplex scanning in one pass. The only option it lacks compared to other higher end HP models is automatic blank page removal when scanning double sided multipage documents via the feeder. All in all, a very good product.
Bought for a client, it is very complicated to configure and the LCD screen is limited. I bought a Brother printer with the same features for myself. I bought a Brother with the same functionality for myself and found it much more convenient to use and set up. The next one I'll be looking at is Brother.
fast start-up immediately recognised in LAN good ergonomics quiet and very intuitive
Bought for home teleworking, the equipment inspires confidence from the moment it is unpacked. The build quality seems to be there.
The installation was done without any problem with an Ethernet connection under Windows 10 but also under Linux (Manjaro) with the HPlib drivers. The print quality is largely correct in office use including when there are photos. Be careful though, full page printing does not seem to be possible and there is a 5mm margin on the edges which can be prohibitive in some cases. The scanning part is also correct.
In short, very good value for money. I can only hope that it will last over time.
As is too often the case with HP, the ideas are good but the software is a real gas factory. The installation is poor, LDLC support is nice but if you don't know the product, you have to go through HP. This allows you to free yourself from an abstruse manual. I'm not sure what to say about the assisted installation, which if you dare to go into admin mode simply cuts off certain functions (for my part the scanner). I had the good idea of subscribing to the IRIS software package for the scanner (+90€), which is a shame as the driver is not optimised for (the feeder is detected every other time, and the maximum definition of 600 dpi is reduced to 300 dpi, why?) The photo printing is awful, the paper feeder has a hard time digesting A4 sheets that have been folded (for example, incoming mail that you want to archive). The software is a gas factory that gives birth to a mouse (e.g. the scanner's software doesn't straighten a page that has turned a bit, the software on my €50 scanner does). I'm not sure what to do with the software, but I'm sure it's a good idea to use it. I would have liked to put negative stars, unfortunately LDLC does not allow it.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to buy a scanner, but it's a good idea to buy a scanner that's a good idea to buy a scanner that's a good idea to buy a scanner that's a good idea to buy a scanner that's a good idea to buy a scanner that's a good idea to buy,
capable of debugging the worst code and running the worst products. For my part I award myself the badger award, but I will not be caught buying this brand again. I'm afraid I'll throw in the towel and the thing in the bin.
I'll add that I had taken out an insurance policy at LDCL with a lot of advantages for 30€ (almost 8% of the price of the printer), which was useless to ask for an exchange since I had unpacked the beast, in short, apart from extending the warranty period of this filthy thing by 2 years, no interest, my confidence in LDLC is a bit affected. I'll take that as a sign.
The HP printer is as described online (very good packaging). I could regret the absence of a printed user manual or other support, whereas HP is not stingy with other printed material in the shipping box, but this is now the rule.....
The start-up is done without any real difficulty, the guidance on the screen and/or on the PC being correct. So everything would be fine if the scanning functionality worked! This is not the case at the time of my comment despite two complete uninstallations of the drivers (full version of the pack ref. 48.4.4588). The use of the troubleshooting tools offered by HP online does not bring the solution (the troubleshooting approaches are generic and one quickly has the feeling of going in circles) nor the HP return to the questions asked on the American forum.
In short, the hardware is not a problem and you should be happy. If your software installation went well, be happy; if not, be prepared for a few moments of nervous tension, and above all find someone who is very competent in network settings or the Windows environment .....
The rating reflects this difficulty.
The ability to connect the MFP to a wireless connection makes it easy to move the MFP close to the workstation that is using it. This is useful when you have several computers in your home.
Once "Wifi Direct" is enabled in the MFP menu, a DHCP range is activated on your Router or Box, the configuration is done automatically (the available Wifi networks appear on the printer screen).
Scanning, with the ability to scan both sides simultaneously (via the document feeder), is very fast, almost one page per second, whether single or double sided.
Colour printing, on standard 80 gram paper, is of largely sufficient quality. I tested it on 180g glossy photo paper, using the manual feeder on the front, to print a few photos. The result is certainly below a good inkjet printer with photo paper, but quite acceptable for personal photos.
The only drawback, like other brands of colour laser printers, is the price of the toner cartridges. The price of the printer for a set of four toner cartridges of the same brand; hence a 1/2 star less.
