Equipped with a PoE port, the DES-1005P switch incorporates D-Link's Green Ethernet technology to save energy when not in use. The switch is completely silent and fanless, making it ideal for offices, libraries or meeting rooms.
Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology
The first port of the DES-1005P supports the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. This PoE port delivers up to 15.4 watts and automatically detects the power required for the connected PoE device, so no configuration is required. This makes the DES-1005P a very practical solution for applications that are far from power outlets, or where there is a need to reduce the footprint of additional power supplies.
QoS (Quality of Service)
The DES-1005P is able to prioritise network traffic by evaluating the existing 802.1p field of the Ethernet frame and routing traffic from its ports according to their priority, with the PoE port always taking priority. As a result, video, voice and data traffic can be easily integrated without delay or loss of quality.
Energy-efficient technology
The DES-1005P is a product of D-Link Green, D-Link's environmentally friendly technology. It saves energy, reduces power consumption and extends the product's life without compromising operational performance or functionality. Using the EEE 802.3az (Ethernet Power Optimisation) standard, the status of each port is checked and when no network traffic is detected, the port is put into sleep mode to save power. The Energy Star Level 5 adapter ensures efficient conversion while extending the life of the device. In addition, the DES-1005P's built-in Green Ethernet technology detects the length of network cables connected to the switch ports and supplies exactly the right amount of power. This allows businesses to reduce their electricity bills without compromising the performance of their product.
