These two 120mm fans complement the Corsair Obsidian 500D case. Nothing to say about the mounting and wiring. Operating range between 400 and 2400 rpm. Great for a lot of fresh air. Of course, they can be heard at maximum speed. But you can't have one without the other, it's physics :)
The fans are quiet and work great!
The packaging leaves something to be desired as it is difficult to remove, but in terms of use it is impeccable!
Noisier than Noctua, less than most fans available on the market. The packaging is very bad (you have to rip the box off to unlock 1 of the fans).
In my opinion, rubber pads are missing to dampen the transmission of vibrations to the case (even if vibrations are limited thanks to the magnetic levitation).
Very good value for money, very quiet fans for surfing the internet and extremely efficient for gaming.
35€ for 2 or 17€ each.
They are 200g heavy each (2 times more than the average), but this must surely contribute to reduce the vibrations.
They are controllable at 100% and very low rpm, which corresponds to 127 m3/h (75 CFM) and 20 m3/h (12 CFM)... we won't lie, at 100% they are clearly noisy! on the other hand they remain almost inaudible (in a quiet room) at low rpm even around 50%.
/And that's where I find their interest
most fans operate between 10 and 80 m3/h for the same noise level... here, you have the same blowing capacity with almost no noise, and the possibility of blowing almost twice as much if necessary.
In addition to a high pressure (blowing force).
They are usable in PWM (rectangular voltage) and 3pin (DC voltage, but the promise of durability is only certified with PWM >> the power supply of the magnetic levitation is constantly at 12V in PWM (it's ok), but not in 3pin, which corresponds to the control voltage, the hold is then softer.
my advice: for a non-PWM use, prefer a vertical axis blast to reduce the MagLev rotor stresses, and thus the possible friction that a PWM use would eliminate.
Unless you have a greedy configuration, it is not necessary to use the whole control range, think of setting the use range in your BIOS (UEFI).
WARNING: on many low-end motherboards, it is not possible to go below 50% for case ventilation (and 20% for the CPU)! prefer Nanoxia, N.N.V. Series of Silent, (4 models with similar prices) which operate up to 88 m3/h and are therefore less audible for case ventilation in this case.
THE SURPRISE OF THE CHIEF: for a product explicitly sold "without anti-vibration end cap", they are provided with screws, 2 riselan, as well as ANTI-VIBRATION washers! =D
After changing the original coolers on my HYDRO H100 i V2 (which were doing their job well) to these models.
I had a performance gain in OC my processor at 5Ghz ( Core i7 7700k model ) I'm at max in Burst at 70° OC at 5Ghz, previously I was at 65°/70° without OC 4.2Ghz
In IDLE nothing to change, except that in BURST OC I gained 20% !
Excellent finish!
The finish of these 120mm fans is good.
The fin design is a good compromise between air movement and static pressure (ideal for watercooling radiators for example).
Simple bundle: 2 fans, and a set of screws.
The ventilation is efficient, but be careful to adjust their speed! They are quiet up to 1100-1200RPM, beyond that they can be really noisy (at 2400RPM it's infernal). In any case, they blow very well, so you can judge the performance/noise ratio.
The use of PWM is therefore recommended, and configuring them well via your motherboard/rheobus is important according to your expectations.
I use them as air inserts on the front of my Storm Genome Gamer case, to ventilate it with a good compromise between silence and performance.
For the magnetic levitation technology, I feel at the moment that it is more marketing than anything else (I don't see the difference with a more "classic" technology), maybe the endurance is better, to be seen in time.
The price seems right considering the quality of the product.
Very satisfied overall, they do their job; blow well, and are quite versatile, I recommend them.
