ultrasilent!
I was fed up with the old Corsair fans (which are supposed to be silent).
Now I feel like I'm deaf!
Thanks to its optimised airflow and outstanding acoustic performance, NF-S12A PWM Chromax is ideal for case cooling and low impedance applications. The chromax.black.swap version retains the cooling performance and silence levels of the famous NF-S12A while offering a colour palette combining the 100% black look of the fan with red, white, blue, green, yellow or black anti-vibration silentblocks. This makes it easy to coordinate the fan with the rest of the configuration... For even greater customisation, a wide choice of silentblocs, anti-vibration clips and coloured cables is also available as an option. With a premium SSO2 bearing, an MTTF of over 150,000 hours and a 6-year manufacturer's warranty, the NF-S12A PWM chromax.black.swap is the ideal choice for users who value impeccable aesthetics as much as uncompromising quality and performance.
The NF-S12A PWM chromax.black.swap comes with 4 NA-AVP1 anti-vibration mounts in black, white, red, green, blue or yellow. By combining different colours with black, or by choosing to leave one side of the fan without silencers, the fan can immediately be aesthetically harmonised with most popular colour themes.
The anti-stall protuberances reduce the phenomenon of flow separation that can occur at medium or high resistance. This feature improves the operating range without stall. As a result, the NF-S12A becomes even more versatile than its famous predecessor, offering even better performance for use on a ventirad or watercooling radiator.
Noctua's stepped inlet design adds turbulence to the incoming flow, allowing a gradual transition from laminar to turbulent flow. This reduces initial noise emissions, improves flow cohesion and increases suction capacity, particularly in environments where space is at a premium.
Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames are equipped with anti-vibration silencers and benefit from exclusive optimisations that push the limits of performance and silence even further: Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures.
Compatible with PWM automated speed control systems, the fans in the chromax line are equipped with the latest NE-FD1 PWM integrated circuit incorporating SCD (Smooth Commutation Drive) technology. By generating less abrupt torque pulses, the SCD system eliminates the noise associated with PWM switching, ensuring quieter ventilation at reduced speeds.

I was fed up with the old Corsair fans (which are supposed to be silent).
Now I feel like I'm deaf!
It's quiet, the connections are comprehensive, and I'm taking away just one star because the price is a little excessive.
Really quiet and blows well, the coloured silentblocks are very practical. It feels like you're wasting the ones you don't use, but maybe they'll come in handy when the first ones wear out.
I much prefer this black look than the original and that's why I chose it. It's quite expensive but I only took one, this fan is the most robust I've seen so far and it's very satisfying in rear extraction.
