a good little caddy
Used to install an ssd drive in place of the DVD drive of an old laptop. Slight thickness problem compensated with cardboard ... all is well since

One screw to remove my drive, 4 to put the HDD in the adapter, 1 to put the adapter back in. And everything works. Perfect product, thanks LDLC!
The product is as pictured, fits my PC perfectly, nothing to report, you can order with your eyes closed.
I've been using it for a while now, but it's a great way to replace my CD drive and put an SSD in its place that fits perfectly. Everything fits perfectly. The CD drive comes with a cover to put on the drive for external use.
Bought a "Crucial BX500 120GB" and installed an OS (Windows 10) to give a second life to a laptop, the result is perfect.
The positive:
Recognized without any problems, the supplied screwdriver fits into the adapter itself, the front panel has a use indicator (in green), installation is simple...
The negative:
There is no fastener to lock the location of the adapter.
Very easy to install a Samsung SDD and easy to install in place of the CD drive. 10 minutes on the clock!
A nice little detail, which was not present on an older model: the green (and not eye-watering blue!) operation LED which allows you to check, as soon as the PC is switched on, that the drive is connected.
Mounted on an ASUS R753U without any problem!
On the other hand, the small cover provided is not pretty, I thus recovered the one which was on the reader. No problem. It is always believed that there is the reader in the PC.
It's a very easy to make replacement; aesthetically, it fits well with the laptop's appearance. A small detail, being slightly recessed from the front of the laptop, removing it to temporarily put the CD player back in will require a little attention, but nothing complicated.
Not convinced by the product in terms of design.
The drawer cover is straight, which on my laptop means that it's recessed, making it quite difficult to remove it to replace the DVD drive.
The HDD/SSD is not difficult to put in, you just have to make sure that it is well plugged in (in my case) in the laptop
