The ICY-DOCK ToughArmor MB852M2PO-B replaces the old CD/DVD ROM with 2 x high-speed M.2 NVMe SSDs. It fits into the Ultra-Slim 9.5mm optical drive array (ODD) and uses removable M.2 platters for effortless drive access and maintenance.

Turn your old optical drive slot into a rack for 2 x NVMe M.2 SSDs
To fully utilize the speeds of the M.2 NVMe SSDs, each drive bay in the MB852M2PO-B uses its own PCIe Gen 4 OCuLink (SFF-8612) connection and supports data transfer speeds of up to 64GB/s, which is up to 2 times faster than PCIe 3.0 and 10 times faster than the SATA interface.
Finally, to prevent overheating, the platter is made of metal which acts as a heat sink. Heat is dissipated through large openings on the top and bottom of the MB852M2PO-B. For even greater efficiency, a thermal pad is included. It fills the gap between the contact surface and transfers the heat from the M.2 SSD to the larger surface of the metal cover, allowing the airflow to dissipate the heat quickly.
