New purchase to replace the previous one which left with some disreputable people who came back to my house without authorization...
I cloned the last backup of the previous disk and zou all is restarted as in 2021!
I don't notice any difference in speed which means that the previous one had not weakened during its 3 years of operation 17/24 7/7! ! !
The choice of an MLC SSD came to me after reading a bit about it. 256GB shared between the root partition and the home partition, and I'm in for many years, if the tests I've read are to be believed.
I've got one star less because the first disk I received was defective, but I replaced it without any problem by LDLC, whom I thank for their professionalism and their reactivity.
I opted for Samsung for this time, and the version with the longest life of this SSD, therefore the PRO.
I use it for Windows 10 and all my software.
I'm sure that a classic SSD with a rate above 500Mb/s would do almost as well if you don't have the budget for this PRO version, which has a better lifespan than many others, it will always be a thousand times better than a physical hard disk and will be cheaper than this one, but I had a prank with a sandisk SSD (although a very reputable brand) and I lost a lot of important data, despite my "regular" backups.
I chose to put a price on it to avoid the same thing happening to me.
That said, barely a week after purchase, Crytal disk already shows me a 99% health status with a "wear level number" of 1%.
We'll see with time if it gets worse quickly, or if it's normal and will stay at this stage for a long time. I hope so at this price.
In the past I had already taken some. I'm so happy with them that I got two 256GB ones. Reliable, fast enough. I usually use this type of SSD for Windows and drivers on 1 SSD and another for programs which makes everything run much smoother. I highly recommend it despite the high price.
I bought this Samsung SSD PRO January 2018, here are some sequential values obtained with Samsung Magician, read 402 MB/s, write and 383 MB/s it seems to me that these values are honorable.
One thing is certain, Samsung SSD products are reliable since I use a Samsung EVO for my data, which is cheaper than the PRO SSDs. I recommend this purchase.
I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get a good price for my SSDs, but I'm sure I'll be able to get a good price for my SSDs, too.
It stands up very well to my numerous reinstallations of Windows and Linux!
(I have reinstalled Windows 4 times and 3 different Linux distributions on it since I bought it).
My Windows turns on extremely fast (wakes up in less than 10 seconds) and file copies are very fast (200 to 400MB/s on large files and 20 to 200MB/s on small files).
It was recommended to me by a lecturer at my computer science school, who used to change SSDs every 6 months (because of very, very, very many heavy writes - server mock-ups and virtual machines); with a Samsung Pro, after 2 years, his SSD still holds!
So I am not disappointed!
I decided to replace my SSD on my laptop as I was starting to feel a drop in performance. So I ordered this one. Easy installation, no setup for OS installation. The SSD performs really well and considering the announced durability, next time I will change my PC...

System" files very easily copied thanks to the "Samsung Data migration" tool, to make an immediate bootable disk, without any particular effort, to replace the existing one !...

The 2012 macs are not compatible with an SSD and do not activate TRIM. I have to do some manipulations via the terminal but I totally advise against it.
