The sound card works without a problem, the device is recognised as soon as the computer is switched on.
I bought this sound card after the sound management on the motherboard failed.
I had difficulties setting it up. Currently, it does not allow me to record the sound of my webcam when I speak. It is only used for the outgoing sound.
For the price I didn't expect anything exceptional, but it works fine, the only problem is the driver provided. It's old, very old. A little research on the internet and the latest drivers allow to have a much better sound quality, but it remains entry level.
In short, it helps.
I have a 15 year old motherboard (PCI slot) (2006) with a sound module that no longer works ("hardware" not found according to the OS), under Vista.

Perfect sound card to replace the one built into my azus motherboard whose plugs were starting to screw up.
I couldn't install the driver from the autorun on the supplied CD. I was able to do it by fiddling in the card settings once the computer detected it.
If the delivery is impeccable (hence the point in my overall score), this card simply does not work.
The driver cannot be installed because "the installation does not have the necessary chip"!
However this card is well seen by the system because it manages to block it. As for the sound, thanks to this card, even the motherboard's sound doesn't work anymore.
The only solution to have sound: Do not install this card!
Too loud anyway.

I have not yet installed my sound card, but discovering a package with a hand-sized opening is not very reassuring. The box has also been opened on both sides, nothing is missing and everything seems to be in good condition, even the card. But this is the first time that a Colissimo delivery person has not rang my doorbell, although there is always someone there.
Installation from the supplied CD was trouble-free and works perfectly with Windows 7.
Received quickly and well packaged.
