Incredible playback accuracy
The technologies accumulated during the development of the SL-1200 series and the top-of-the-range SL-1000R model have been put to good use in the design of the motor drive unit, one of the key elements of the turntable. The unit exclusively houses the single-rotor, coreless direct-drive motor adopted from the SL-1200GR to provide perfect rotational regularity and high read accuracy of the record signals. The motor optimally controls the inertial mass of the double-layer platter that holds the vinyl record, thanks to the sound-absorbing rubber coating applied over the entire surface, which eliminates unwanted resonances. The die-cast aluminium chassis eliminates cogging.
Audiophile quality
The tonearm takes the form of a universal S-arm with static balance, another Technics signature. The SL-100CEG-K adopts the same gimbal suspension and cut-out housing for high-precision bearings as the SL-1200 series, for perfect sensitivity to initial movement. This rigid die-cast aluminium chassis is embedded in a special material made from ABS plastic mixed with fibreglass, in a double-layer design. The isolating device consists of a spring and rubber for optimum vibration damping characteristics.
The SL-100CEG-K comes with a pre-installed Ortofon cell: so you can listen to your favourite tunes in high fidelity without complicated installation beforehand.
