Very good TV, very bright (my first OLED) // Bad sound bar
It's my first oled, and I'm switching from a 55" Plasma that's 10 years old to this 77" Oled TV.
I was blown away by the blacks (the "always ready" mode means you can leave the TV on semi standby, with the time displayed, the weather forecast, or that sort of information...). In the evening, when I turn off the lights, I can ONLY see the time, on a really black background .... It's impressive )
The very vivid and impressive colours
The great luminosity (in broad daylight, with the sun shining through the bay window, it's still possible to see the screen clearly), no reflections
The viewing angle ...
Very good, I don't regret my purchase at all
I fell for it because it came with a sound bar, and I took the opportunity to change my Z-5500 from logitech, which wasn't working very well (no support for DolbyDigital, DTS True HD etc, and no HDMI socket, so I had to use DACs etc to get anything out of it) ... An opportunity to move on to something simpler that supports the latest formats.
What a disappointment! I don't understand how a 1200 € soundbar in 2024 can really do less well than a small 5.1 kit sold for 400 € nearly 20 years ago.
More concretely, no matter what mode you use, the non-spatialised, stereo sound (used 80% of the time when watching old TV series / classic TV / youtube ) sounds unnatural ... It clearly lacks 'body', and is barely of better quality than the sound from the TV speakers...
Anyway, I've put my Z-5500 back in, and I'm selling my S95QR ...
