Very good CPU
I'm very happy with this CPU. I only use it for gaming and I find that it's even overkill for gaming.
However, I'm less happy with Intel and their bios. I use it with a Z790 tomahawk wifi from MSI (excellent CM by the way). Even with the latest bios, the default settings heat up too much and cause the CPU to throttle, even though I have a noctua NH D15 as a cooler. And after research, these problems of excessive voltage in the default settings are present in all CM manufacturers. Whereas with AMD CPUs, the default settings are fine and users don't have to worry about it.
As a hardware enthusiast, I've had no problem setting the bios correctly to keep the same frequencies and performance (with benchmarks to back it up) with much less voltage. But I'm putting myself in the shoes of the lay user who doesn't want to bother, and I would have been very annoyed in his place. And yet this is a CPU sold for gaming, for the general public, not for people who know how to fiddle with CPU parameters in the bios.
It's also a shame that it can never be upgraded without changing the motherboard.
I've had an excellent experience of this CPU in any case (I've been using it for 4 months now).
