Overview

Do-it-yourself mini-tower case

The Cooler Master QUBE 500 is a mini-tower case that showcases your style and creativity. The QUBE 500 comes as a flat-packed kit, designed to provide a fun building experience. Its compact size does not prevent it from having two 280 mm heatsink slots and 8 fan slots, as well as support for motherboards up to E-ATX format.

Thanks to the removable nature of the QUBE 500 Flatpack's design, it's very easy to open a panel, plug or unplug cables and close it again. This level of modularity is also ideal for customisation, allowing you to adjust the case as you wish.

Nice to put together but questionable reliability once assembled

The assembly is relatively easy to do. The cable management is classic. You'll notice that some options are provided only for very special cases (mounting HDD 3.5 for example, the centre distances don't correspond to certain hard disk references, and the placement is chosen somewhat "by default").

The most damaging aspect is the glass side panel, which comes loose at the slightest touch. Extreme care should be taken when transporting the case, either horizontally, with the glass panel facing upwards, or with the panel against your stomach if you're carrying the case vertically.

Finally, although the case is rather small, it can't really be considered a 'mini-tower'. Its only advantage is compatibility with the standard ATX format. For this use, other cases in the same price range will do just fine.

1 star for the design once assembled, which is rather pretty, and 1 star for the cool assembly aspect.
