A good mouse with lots of extra buttons.
Quite light but I can't get used to the ergonomics.
I replaced it with a Logitech
Hello,
I stayed with a rival brand for several years, I had everything, keyboard, mouse, headphones, even speakers. We're going to call this brand "G" as I don't know if I can really name the exact brand in writing, but regulars will recognise why "G".
Unfortunately, the manufacturing quality of this brand is going downhill with each new product release: keyboard keys that break (without necessarily typing on them), headphones that wear out after a while, and last but not least, the irreplaceable mouse that is so well known and which is perhaps still the best-selling today because of its ergonomics that are very difficult to match (faulty mouse clicks).
The manufacturer knowing this has multiplied the refresh versions of this mouse, like 4 or 5 different versions.
Although I still love their products today, you have to realise that the price is not justified for the quality of workmanship provided.
So I switched to Corsair, but little by little,
first the keyboard ( k100 opx ), then the headset (Hs 80 Wireless).
But changing the mouse for me was a serious challenge, I couldn't find anything better for the ergonomics.
I tried the Corsair Darkcore, but something just didn't feel right, so I went back to my usual mouse.
Then Corsair came out with the Darkstar, and as I was skeptical and didn't think I'd find another mouse that suited me other than the one from the brand mentioned above, I didn't buy it straight away when it came out.
But finally, I gave in and tried it out.
And now I've finally found a real alternative, it's even lighter than my old one, better build quality, but Corsair is generally solid, and the buttons are just perfect.
The only downside is their "Icue" software, but I'd rather have to relaunch the software a few times than buy new hardware.
Hope this helps.
A really cool mouse! It offers a lot of possibilities thanks to the customisable buttons, which is kind of the point of buying it, but hey.... The ergonomics are perfect for medium-sized hands => having also bought the ROG chakram X and spatha X mice, the darkstar offers a perfect balance between weight and comfort.
The soft touch and RGB add a significant plus to this mouse. Battery life obviously depends on how you use it (RGB + brightness, etc.).
I'd definitely recommend it!
Of the six buttons on the sides, the two on the front are hard to reach for average/small hands. The mouse is sublime, the rgb is magnificent and the corsair icue software is top-notch too, although once in your hand you get a general feeling of fragility. The strength of the mouse lies in its versatility (hence the 4 stars despite my mixed opinion), plenty of buttons for mmorpg, light enough for fps, pleasant in both palm and claw grip and, I thought, after a very long search for versatile mice, that's rare but it's also a real tour de force. However, for 170 quid with no charging dock or extension cable to connect the dongle, the Darkstar should be flawless, which isn't the case...
