Built-in phono stage and Bluetooth aptX HD
The Alva ST is for people who want to listen to great quality records, without having to choose or install extra components. The Alva ST keeps it simple with perfectly matched, pre-installed cartridges. The Alva ST also connects to almost any audio system, as it has built-in switchable phono stages. It even works wirelessly with Bluetooth speaker systems.
The integrated Bluetooth aptX HD frees the Alva from the rest of your hi-fi system. Because you have the freedom to place this Alva on any flat surface, your records are the centre of attention. Music can be played back through any compatible Bluetooth kit, including headphones, in high definition quality up to 24 bit/48 kHz. Or you can turn it off and simply use phono cables: the choice is yours.
Pre-installed moving magnet cartridge and brand new arm
The Alva ST has a built-in phono stage (phono preamp), derived from the award-winning Alva Duo, to reveal the incredible precision of your records. This means you can connect the Alva ST to any compatible amp or speaker system. You can also disable the turntable's phono stage, which is ideal if your amp already has one.
After hours and hours of listening, Cambridge selected Audio Technica's moving magnet cartridge to mount on the Alva ST. Cambridge engineers also selected a new high mass, low resonance tone arm. With no time-consuming installation, you'll be playing records in minutes. The elliptical stylus provides a larger contact area with the grooves of your records, producing accurate tracking information and, of course, acoustically superior music.
Great ease of use and exceptional finish
The Alva ST uses the proven belt drive method, supplemented by electronic motor speed control.
The deck of the Alva ST is made of die-cast aluminium. The 17 mm high aluminium platter is finished with a 5 mm rubber mat, a combination that has proven to reduce unwanted resonance. The Alva ST is designed with a 1mm aluminium top plate, an absorbent EVA layer and MDF. It comes to you in a composite frame and weighs 9 kg. It is solid and reassuring, with high sound absorption qualities.
