Very easy to use and fast
I was changing printers after the printheads failed on an (old) HP8610. On the latter, I had too many software problems (loss of network connection, reinstallation of the printer, which was installed twice, three times...). In short, I opted for this Brother.
It has some really interesting qualities:
- Very easy to install, whether wired or via network,
- Fast to start up (it starts printing very quickly),
- Simple and clear touch panel interface,
- Possibility to load A3 (for printing, not for scanning) at the back
- It prints on both sides (A4)
- It is very easy to change the consumables (cartridges in the hatch on the front, right side)
- The A4 feeder takes a lot of pages (probably more than 150), no need to refill often
- The tray system is ingenious: thanks to small slides that you can activate or not, you can easily fit A4, A5, 10x15 for photos, etc.
- It is quite solid and inspires confidence, and weighs its weight!
It has a few points that could be improved
- If you print 30 pages, the pages may overflow and fall on the floor. It also happens that some of the pages that arrived last will slip under a previously printed page, forcing you to re-file your print. So, I would say that the output tray can be improved.
- It is a bit of a hassle to create a directory on your computer that will automatically receive the PDFs from your scans (when you scan from the printer, you choose the desired directory, which is then stored once and for all, so that you can then always find your PDF file in the same place).
