SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe 1.3c - PCIe 4.0 x4
Samsung's 1TB SSD 980 PRO can transform the performance and responsiveness of your machine. Boasting stratospheric speeds and extremely high endurance, the Samsung 980 PRO in M.2 2280 format uses the PCI-E 4.0 x4 interface as well as NVMe 1.3c technology. It is also equipped with Samsung V-NAND 3-bit MLC memory, a Samsung Elpis controller and 512 MB of LPDDR4 cache memory.
The Samsung 980 PRO M.2 PCIe 4.0 4x NVMe 1.3c is designed above all for hardcore gamers and the most demanding technophiles, the 980 PRO offers both bandwidth and high-performance throughput for heavy requests in gaming, computer graphics, data analysis and more. Games load ultra-fast so you can play more, and wait less.
Take your equipment into a new era with the power of the Samsung 980 PRO NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD. The 980 PRO makes the most of the PCIe 4.0 interface by doubling the data transfer rate of PCIe 3.0, while remaining backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0.
The 980 PRO has been optimised for speed thanks to its Samsung Elpis controller, specially designed for PCIe 4.0. You'll be able to reach read speeds of up to 7000 MB/s (depending on the model).
SSDs delivering very high performance require extremely precise thermal control. To ensure the most stable performance, the 980 PRO has a nickel-protected controller to keep it at a stable temperature, and a heatsink to protect the NAND chip from temperature variations.
Samsung has equipped the 980 PRO with a cutting-edge algorithm so that the SSD can manage its own temperature peaks and therefore ensure stable performance. To minimise long-term speed variations, Samsung Dynamic Thermal Guard technology keeps the temperature of the 980 PRO at an optimal level.
Access the true power of the 980 PRO thanks to Samsung Magician software and its intuitive tools: monitor the state of the drive, optimise its performance, protect your important data, and receive all the updates to always benefit from the best possible performance with your SSD.

Fast, efficient and reliable.
Used in my office computers with great satisfaction.
No returns more than 3 years after start-up.
this nvme is very very thin for a ssd with heatsink, its real thickness is 8,6 mm (with heatsink) useful precision when you have to slide it in badly thought motherboard corners.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have a ssd with a heatsink, but it's a good idea to have a ssd with a heatsink, because it's not a good idea to have a heatsink on your motherboard. The motherboard is in 3.0 pcie and this ssd is in 4.0 pcie but I needed a nvme with a very thin heatsink because the graphics card is inserted right on top of the nvme preventing it from breathing and the original heatsink of the motherboard is a good joke, 57° on crystal disk mark with a 16GB copy... in the same case but repeated 2 x in a row this nvme is mounted at 44°.
I'm happy with this.
No problem (1 month after commissioning all is well). No problem (1 month after commissioning all is well).
I took the heatsink version without seeing that the motherboard I was going to put it on already had a heatsink for NVMe drives, a bigger one at that. I couldn't tell if the built-in heatsink is better. But I think the difference is minimal, if I had to do it again I would take the version without the heatsink.
The drive is fast, but I haven't checked that it reaches the stated performance. In any case the system boots up very quickly and disk operations go much faster than with my conventional hard drives.
