Specifically designed to produce an extraordinarily smooth and natural bokeh effect, this lens features a unique Apodising Optical Element (APD), a new 11-blade circular aperture and minimal distortion of the bright areas at the image periphery. Each lens is individually tuned to ensure that it meets the highest standards of the G Master series.

TheDDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) focusing system provides fast, accurate and quiet autofocusing. It allows the user to concentrate on making outstanding photos or videos. This lens supports contrast autofocus and phase-detection autofocus with focal plane.
