GSM: Gigabyte Server Management

Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) is Gigabyte's multiple remote management software platform, available as a free download from each server product page. GSM supports IPMI or Redfish (RESTful API) connection interfaces and includes the following subprograms:

• GSM Server: software with an easy-to-use browser-based graphical interface to enable global remote monitoring and management of multiple Gigabyte servers via the BMC of each server node.
• GSM CLI: a command line interface program to enable global remote monitoring and management of multiple Gigabyte servers via the BMC of each server node.
• GSM Agent®: a software program installed locally on each Gigabyte server node that retrieves additional node information (CPU/Mem/HDD/PCI/...) from the operating system and passes it to the BMC.
• The GSM agent is compatible with the Avocent MergePoint IPMI 2.0 BMC firmware, not yet with the Megarac SP-X BMC firmware.
• GSM Mobile: a mobile APP for remote server management, available for Android and iOS.
• GSM Plugin: a plugin that allows the user to manage and monitor Gigabyte server nodes in VMware vCenter.

Dynamic Fan Control

Gigabyte servers feature dynamic fan speed control. The speed of each fan will be automatically adjusted according to the system temperature (depending on the CPU, RAM, M.2 SSDs, HDDs...) to achieve the best possible cooling. When the BMC detects a change in temperature, the fan speed is automatically adjusted accordingly. Fan speed profiles can also be created and edited manually as needed to suit the user's custom requirements.
