Very satisfied despite the impossibility of reusing bent SATA
Case bought to replace a BITFENIX SHINOBI whose soft touch plastic had become sticky and unrecoverable. The opportunity to dismantle a PC from 2013 and give it a new case! Compared to the previous case, this one offers :
- a reduction of the bank account (110 euros against 60 euros for the original case in 2013)
- a better finish, especially in terms of materials
- more space, in width for a ventirad (HYPER 212 EVO) and in depth for large graphics cards
- a lot (too much) of fans: when controlled by the case it remains a bit noisy even in eco mode. One possibility is to rewire the internal fans on the motherboard to control them more finely by software or to disconnect them altogether. The config lost about 5 degrees when changing the case
/The case fans need a SATA power supply as for the hard drives, so take this into account when ordering
- no horizontally stacked cart/basket type disk slots, so this case is probably not suitable for disk collectors. Mainly, there is a mechanical drive slot at the bottom of the case, and 2 SSD slots are located on the internal chassis on the back of the motherboard
/It is not possible to use angled SATA cables (like the ones supplied with some ASUS motherboards for example): you have to invest in straight SATA cables, which increases the budget (about 5 euros per cable)
