Successful installation but...
The printer does not have a USB B port and therefore cannot scan/print a document with a USB stick.
Furthermore, and this is really bad, the connection cable to the computer (USB A to USB B) was not supplied. This means that you have to buy such a cable in addition to the printer otherwise it is simply unusable. The cable costs 8 euros on LDLC.
With the cable, the installation was done without any problem, the instructions from the website are clear.
I managed to get the printer to recognise me on Linux using the driver available here: canonijprintersetup.com. I'm not sure where this driver came from. It's a problem I think, that the link with the canon company is not clearly made. Maybe I installed a virus? I'll never know. In any case, the printer and scanner work on Linux.
On windows, I tried the installation client which works fine. The printing worked straight away. I haven't tried scanning yet.
