I wasn't expecting much.
I can't tell you how long it will last, but in any case, I was pleasantly surprised when I unpacked it. The design seems more solid than I expected.
I bought it to hold a small LED panel when taking photos, thinking "if it's strong enough, it'll also be able to hold the camera in case". Result: my Canon DSLR with a 250mm lens doesn't make it wobble, it holds it well. Of course, with a big camera and a big lens, the tripod shakes a bit, it's not the most stable thing in the world, so set a 2-second delay before taking a photo, just long enough for it to stop moving after you've pressed it.
As far as phones are concerned, they hold up very well.
The only major drawback I found was that the little rubber pad that was supposed to stabilise the object attached by squeezing came off quickly.
