Designed for pros who want to push the limits of what's possible, the new MacBook Pro is by far the most powerful laptop Apple has ever created. With an immersive 16-inch Retina display, ultra-fast processors, next-generation graphics, the largest battery capacity ever seen in a MacBook Pro, a Magic Keyboard, and massive storage, it's the ultimate pro laptop. Ready for the most ambitious projects.
The new MacBook Pro features a stunning 16-inch Retina display - the largest Retina display ever seen on a Mac laptop. With 500 nits of luminance, the display delivers spectacular brightness and crisp whites, and deep blacks thanks to precise photo-alignment of the liquid crystal molecules. The wide P3 colour gamut delivers stunningly realistic photos and videos. Wherever you are, your work will look its best.
The MacBook Pro 16-inch laptop takes performance to a whole new level. Thanks to a more advanced thermal architecture, the Intel Core i9 processor, which can pack up to 8 cores and 16 threads of processing power, maintains higher performance for longer periods of time and achieves up to 2.1 times the performance of a quad-core MacBook Pro. Whether you're layering dozens of tracks and effects, doing 3D modelling, or compiling and testing code, it'll all happen at blazing speeds.
More advanced thermal architecture for faster processing. MacBook Pro's thermal architecture has been completely redesigned, with larger airflow rotors and improved fan blades, and an increased number of heat-dispersing fins for better cooling. With this increased cooling capacity, MacBook Pro offers up to 12 watts of additional maximum sustained power.
Up to 64GB of DDR4 memory for more efficient multitasking. The 16-inch MacBook Pro uses fast 2666 MHz DDR4 memory - up to 64GB - to give you smooth performance whether you're downloading hundreds of audio samples, editing images with billions of pixels, or running multiple virtual machines.
The AMD Radeon Pro 5000M series graphics processor delivers the best graphics performance ever seen in a MacBook Pro. The base model of the 16-inch MacBook Pro delivers more than twice the performance of the previous-generation base model, for flawless playback and faster rendering of ultra-high-definition video6.
For working on graphics-intensive projects like 3D rendering or complex game development, you can boost your MacBook Pro with an optional Radeon Pro 5600M graphics card. With 40 compute units and 8GB of high-bandwidth memory, this ultra-powerful card gives your MacBook Pro desktop-like graphics performance.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro lets you do everything more efficiently. With an advanced scissor mechanism and a typing stroke of just 1 mm, the Magic Keyboard is more responsive, comfortable, and quiet. The Touch Bar brings powerful shortcuts to the forefront and Touch ID makes authentication quick and easy. A dedicated Esc key lets you quickly switch between modes and views. And the inverted T-shaped arrow keys make it easy to navigate through lines of code, spreadsheets and games.
Touch ID. Quick and easy authentication for secure logins and purchases. Force Touch trackpad. Work even faster with Force Click and Multi-Touch gestures. Touch Bar. The controls you use most are right where you need them. Less keystrokes save you valuable time.
MacBook Pro knows how to make itself heard. The six-speaker audio system delivers stereo sound with a quality and range never before experienced on a laptop. The two force-cancelling woofers dramatically reduce vibration, releasing an extra half octave of bass. And the set of three studio-quality microphones is second to none to professional third-party microphones. It allows you to create crystal-clear podcasts or music recordings anywhere.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro offers up to 8TB of SSD storage - the most available in a laptop. So you can take your entire photo or video library with you wherever you go. And with lightning-fast transfer speeds, your largest files load in an instant, and your business apps launch in a flash.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro has more battery capacity than any other Apple notebook. The 100 Wh lithium-polymer battery powers a larger display, delivers more sustained maximum power, and ensures better battery life - up to 11 hours of wireless web browsing and video playback8. So you can do more between charges, without worrying about your battery.
Every MacBook Pro comes equipped with the Apple T2 Security chip. This second-generation silicon chip for Macs was designed specifically by Apple to further protect everything you do on your Mac. It features a Secure Enclave coprocessor that controls Touch ID and delivers dual protection: secure boot and encryption of stored data. And it federates many separate controllers into one, including the system management controller, audio controller, and SSD controller.
Thunderbolt 3 combines extremely high bandwidth with the immense versatility of the USB-C standard to create a universal port with a boost. This technology combines data transfer, video output, and power in a single connector, delivering up to 40 Gbps of throughput- twice the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 2. And because the 16-inch MacBook Pro has four ports, you can do it all on either side. Your current devices can easily be connected with a cable or adapter. And because Thunderbolt 3 is reversible, it doesn't matter which way you plug it in - it's always the right way up.

- 2- 1GB = 1 billion bytes and 1TB = 1 trillion bytes; actual formatted capacity is less.
- 3- Tests conducted by Apple in October 2019 on 16-inch MacBook Pro prototypes equipped with a 2.4GHz 8-core Intel Core i9 processor with 64GB of RAM; and on market-ready 15-inch MacBook Pros equipped with a 3.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with 16GB of RAM. Tests were conducted using Logic Pro X 10.4.7 with a project consisting of 253 tracks, each with an Amp Designer module applied. Individual tracks were activated during playback until the central processor was overloaded. The performance tests are conducted on specific computers and are only a rough indication of the performance of the MacBook Pro.
