Nearly 15 years after the release of this iconic mouse, Logitech has decided to bring it back to life: discover the new generation MX518, which has benefited from subtle improvements while retaining its old soul! A 16,000 DPI Hero sensor, internal memory and 8 customisable buttons will enhance your gaming experience. However, the popular shape, dimensions and finish have all been kept as close to the original as possible.
One of the most important additions to the MX518 is the Hero sensor, which is capable of up to 16,000 DPI, without smoothing, acceleration or filtering. Its excellent accuracy coupled with its good speed of over 400 DPI makes this new generation MX518 an extremely powerful tool for everyone!
Buttons on either side of the wheel allow you to switch between different values on the fly or to reset them if you want to use completely new settings.
Whatever you use at the time, you'll have eight programmable buttons to keep your main actions at your fingertips. What's more, this new version comes with an internal memory that allows you to store up to 5 different profiles that you set up in advance on the G HUB assistant. Once saved, you can use them on any computer: no software to install and no internet connection required.
Discover or rediscover the MX518's much-loved soft shapes: unchanged since 2005, they will delight gamers looking for a mouse that is both powerful and ergonomic, but with no frills. The dimensions(131 x 73 x 43 mm) are also still the same, so fans of the first MX518 will immediately find their bearings. The number of buttons (8) has not changed either (the two main clicks however benefit from Omron switches with a life span of 50 million clicks) and even the characteristic glossy/matt finish has been renewed with minimal stylistic changes: as the saying goes, the best soup comes from the old pot!

Bought to replace my old mouse which, after many years of good service, had a false contact in the cable. I chose this mouse because it is the same as the previous one, with higher resolution. I'm happy with it because it doesn't change the way I use it or the way I hold it. Used in office, Photoshop, games, under Windows 7 pro.
LDLC always perfect.
My old mx518 had just given up on me after many years of good and loyal service, including gaming.
I was happy that Logitech reissued it and did not hesitate to order it.
I can feel it again, but not everything.
I am satisfied with it, but I feel it is lighter.
The coating, although new, does not have the feel of the old one (well worn).
The clicks are precise and a tad louder, but I think this will fade with time.
The cable is thinner, but I don't think that will be a problem for me.
It's a great product and I would still recommend it.
Great product to replace my 2009 MX518 which was still working. Great quality. I found my way around. Easy to update driver. Pleasant in hand.
Why the MX518? because I had its little sister at the time, the mythical MX510 and so many good memories on CS1.6, when the opportunity presented itself, I bought without hesitation with satisfaction guaranteed.
The only downside is that in my memories, this very pronounced click was not present, it makes a huge CLICK at each CLICK, and I hope that with time and the HS, it will fade.
Otherwise, perfect and identical to the old one, I approve.

I wanted to get back to the feel of the Logitech G500 but it only looks like it in the window. The click, the weight, the wheel, the laser, and even the shape are less pleasant to use than the G500 I bought in 2012.
If you are an old hand who has spent the last 10/15 years on mx510/mx518, needless to say that this new version is perfect.
The only downside is that the cable is very thin and seems really fragile, but many of the old-timers know that you just have to strip a few cables to get a working mouse... It's impossible to give a top score with this kind of defect.
You could save the wires, but not the buttons which get tired after 5/10 years, so you can find perfect and clean clicks by investing in this 2018 version, what a pleasure.
