Ordering a Panasonic Lumix camera

I bought this camera just before a trip to Sicily, which I didn't have time to "study" before leaving; I therefore used it in automatic at the beginning, having only had compacts until then (currently a Canon Powershot G15 which I am very satisfied with).
When I tried to understand its functions, I almost tore my hair out! A professional photographer friend was there, fortunately, and helped me... but he himself found that there were "too many useless buttons", according to him, at least not essential, and, moreover, that the handling was complex.
I can't judge his opinion, as I'm rather ignorant about optics myself... But as far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't have been able to use any of the options offered by this camera if I had had to do it myself.
However, this friend was quite complimentary about the capabilities and qualities of the camera.
In the end, I am very satisfied with my pictures, both those taken in automatic and those taken with a (basic) setting.
To conclude, it seems to me that to use this bridge without help, it is better not to be a complete novice... fortunately the computer manages very well by itself, which allows to obtain beautiful results. After that, if you want to do more advanced photography, you'll have to take some courses.
