Super colorimetry probe!
To use the probe, you need to create an account, then register the product (remember to keep the product number for future use!).
Then you install the utility from the website (version 5.4 currently).
The use is really easy (classic usb plug and connection by pulling on the usb cable to modify the height of the probe).
If you take it step by step, it's really easy to use. You just have to remember to deactivate dynamic contrast or consort, set the colours to 6500K, etc. follow the instructions carefully. On the other hand I find the recommended 120 cd/m² brightness too high, prefer 90 or 100 cd/m²!
After several tests on IPS screens, I set as follows: gamma 2.15 (to be modified in the settings, to have more details in the shaded areas in video games without distorting the rendering too much), colour temperature on 6600K (slightly less warm than 6500K), and no modification on the brightness. The result is really convincing, especially on entry-level screens!
Compared to the Nvidia panel (colour setting), the grey scales are much better respected after calibration (same level of detail in the shaded areas, but less burnt white in the bright areas). My brother uses a laptop with an extra screen, frankly the rendering is almost identical on both screens after calibration!
