Purchased in April 2020, this SSD died in December 2021... The symptom: no read errors, but the data on the drive is completely messed up. No more partition table, and no way to find my partitions by scanning the drive. The data is probably there, but it's as if everything has been mixed up.
It's probably a bug in the disk controller, maybe fixed since then but I don't have any more info at the moment.
I chose this drive to replace my original 128G in an 8 year old Samsung computer, as I was running out of space. I found a speed boost.
I had bought the same SSD hard drive but with a higher capacity, it "burned out" under warranty.
The after sales service gave me a 100€ credit for its replacement, no shipping costs, great! I ordered this one, I received it, it works, I just hope it will last longer than the first one.
It gives 240GB of hard drive back to my machine. It is installed on a SATA3 port which does not make it a war lightning but very comfortable for quick backups.
I have lowered the rating a bit, as it does not come with the screws to hold it in place. None of my PC construction screws were small enough to hold it in place. While waiting to find the right screws, to hold it in place, I resorted to using adhesive. This is not elegant but effective in the short term.
Indeed, the contacts of the mSata port on the motherboard lift the disk. To hold it to the motherboard and get a good contact, two small diameter screws are needed.
