The dynamic range is decent, but I find that the bass is too diffuse and drowns out the rest of the audio documents I play (interviews, podcasts...). I'm not a sound expert. I wouldn't call myself an "audiophile" or anything; the "optimized" part of the music is for my home equipment. But for daily use of this model, I stretch my back every time fearing for the definition of the sound, of the sound coverage of the room. Honest set that said, but disappointed by the final rendering. No doubt I have to get used to the settings of a good media player. It's not that intuitive to use; you have to get used to the location of the keys and the degree of pressure on each of them.
