The adapter is very easy to use for connecting an IDE peripheral to a SATA socket. No need to manage the master/slave jumper. It works well with a hard drive but not with a DVD burner, which is invisible to the bios.
Bought to connect old hard drives, I was able to access the data on my tower PC perfectly.
I wanted to use an old optical drive that doesn't have SATA connectivity, well it doesn't work. I can't see the drive. The manual is very short and I couldn't find any help on the internet. I have not tested it with an IDE HDD.
I originally wanted to use it on a DVD drive to connect to a motherboard that only has SATA ports but the DVD drive is not seen as such.
I put it on an old hard drive to connect it to my SATA motherboard and no problem.
I don't put zero because I may have fallen on the wrong side of the tracks, but in any case the product doesn't work. I changed my motherboard and I thought I would save myself the purchase of a DVD player. Disappointing.
