Designed for system buildersFully modular wiring system When assembling or upgrading your PC, the fully modular, low-profile cabling system offers maximum flexibility and maximum airflow through your chassis. This allows you to use only the cables you need, reducing cabling clutter and maximising the cooling performance of your PC. The switch on the power supply will allow you to switch between multi-rail and single-rail +12V modes. In single-rail mode, all connectors receive the full power of the +12V rail, while in multi-rail mode, each connector is surge-protected, so no cable can receive more than 40A. |

Quality Corsair power supply, easy wiring, everything perfect.
Thank you to all the team Nickel parcel and delivery.
Perfect to handle a 3080ti oc and to replace my 750w gold.
The cables are quite stiff but nothing to worry about.
I'm switching from a 650W from the same range to this 850W to accommodate a 3080 later on.
And for me this power supply does the job very well.
It's modular and perfect for my use.
What can I say... 850w perfect for my new rtx 3080 and 80plus PLATINUM certified too. Not disappointed at all
It does its job very well, but it does ventilate a lot, so be sure to use active noise reduction headphones if you have your tower next to you!
The power supply works very well, is quite quiet, and the cable modularity is great.
Runs a Ryzen 2700x, corsair 115 platinum AIO, Zotac 2080Ti, SSD, 3 3.5" hard drives, and 6 140mm fans without any problems.
Fast shipping from LDLC.
I bought this power supply to replace an 8 year old Corsair 850TX, whose fan, which spins constantly, was getting noisy.
With this new 850HX, my PC (equipped with SSD) has become almost silent at rest and very quiet at mid-load: a real relief for my ears!
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use the new 850HX for the first time, but it's a good idea to use the new 850HX for the second time: yes, the power supply is oversized for my current needs, but for durability and efficiency reasons, I prefer to see it running at 50% of its capacity; not to mention that the future upgrade of my system to an octo-core CPU (or even more if affinity), obviously overclocked, will make it even more relevant.
Other advantages compared to my old 850TX:
- Modularity: no unused cables cluttering up the PC.
- Better regulation: my amplified speakers, powered by a USB port on the PC, emit much less background noise (crackling of frequency equal to FPS) when the GPU is used.
- When the switch is set to "0", the power is effectively cut off (zero consumption), instead of only in standby (and 10W consumption) with the 850TX.
So why "almost" perfect?
- The standby consumption (switch on "1", power supply only, not connected to a PC) is still not negligible: 21W/34VA (measured with a true RMS Wattmeter).
- It is subject to a slight coil whine when the graphics card is under load (you can hear the FPS frequency); nothing dramatic (you have to listen, at less than one meter and in a silent environment), but still... The 850TX did not suffer from this defect.
- The price is high (50% more than my 850TX)... But quality has to be paid for.
In short, it's a purchase I'm very satisfied with.
Purchased less than a week ago.
Little to no noise, stable voltages and plenty of SATA power ports.
Perfectly packaged power supply, no problems despite being shipped by mail (unlike the shipping box containing the entire order).
Perfect for the moment.
I'll have to see with time but I doubt it will change.
This power supply is top notch, it is quiet and allows me to plug in everything I need. I wish I had the option of buying the hx850i version which is monitored (- 1/2 star) on LDLC but in the end they both do the same job ;)
But what power 80 plus Platinum, 10 years warranty from Corsair, it's really worth the cost, I admit I really hesitated because of the silent fan stories, here in Mayotte it's really hot, I need a helicopter, I installed an exhaust fan behind the power supply. The design is excellent, it gives a lot of value to my old central unit. Very good product, I advise :)
